Been a very, very long time since I did any work. About 4 months ago I put in 2 of 3 window sills. One left to do but it is a big one and I have not made the time to go get the right size piece of MDF to do it.
Over the past few days I have been busy caulking the baseboard and door trim to cover over all the seams. I have had varried success with some seams better than others. Tonight after work I painted all the door and closet trim as well as the baseboard in the hall and stairs. I found a few areas I will sand down again and repaint as the filler in the nail holes is a little off and I missed a few... It really finishes off the room when the baseboards and trim are all done...
What prompted this flurey of activity... having people over from work for a BBQ on saturday....

The past couple of weeks have been busy, but not with building models... been busy with the house. I've finished the boys room and gotten them moved in. We painted Christine's craftroom and then started on the girls room. The girls are temporarily in the boys old room (soon to be the baby's room).

Went out and picked up more 2 inch brads, 2.5/1.5/3.5 inch trim for the doors, shims for the toilet (the flange is about 1/8 inch above the floor) and a 2 foot bi-fold door for the under stairs closet (to keep the damn cats out).
Now I can finish the trim in the boys room and get the bathroom setup for use (other than the bathtub, still need to tile the surround.

Here is the shelving as it stands today. I is pretty much done, though I do have several more glass shelves to swap with wood shelving. I also think I need some lighting setup but now sure what to use yet.
Ikea is the greatest place on earth for affordable "custom" wall units. With all the "cookie cutter" units and pieces you can create almost anything you want. This one is made up of 6 units + doors and shelves.

I unhooked all the plumbing under the sink and moved it so that I could add a backer board to behind the drywall to give me something to attach the sink to. I decided to move the sink to the right a bit so I had to redo the drain. The joint between the sink drain stub and the black drain still leeks. I will need to find something to seal that.
The last thing to do is to get two bots to attach the ceramic top to the wall and then I can add the base board.
Next project is the tile surround in the Tub.

Returned the extra sink drain and the bathtub shower/faucet we bought. Turns out the sink faucet we bought included the grain and the plumber installed a specific style of tub faucet that did not jive with what we bought.
While at Rona I also picked up the bathroom tiles, mortar a trowel, spacers, boarder and a tile cutter. I think the tiling will be the most difficult job yet. I don't know if I have the patient's or skill for this but I am going to try.
To back butter or not to back butter, that is the question!

Today I installed the toilet. It was easier than I thought. The hardest part was knocking out the plug from the flange.
The toilet does not sit totally flat on the flange. I am going to need to shim it with something before I caulk around the base. I will also need to cut off the flange bolts as they are to long for the covers.
Next up the sink!

We already had the toilet.
This weekend we bought the sink, all the taps and fittings do hook all the water. Going to try it myself. How bad can I mess up... really! (knock on wood).
Also picked up a vanity with mirror on it to install over the sink. I really hope it all fits!

It has been over a month since I did any work on the basement. Been O/D'ing on building models (after 2.5 year hiatus). Today a quick shot of the Recroom shelving. Will need much more eventually to hold all my future builds (have about 200 models in the stash!!)
